Multiplication facts can be tough to learn. In Mrs. Griess’s third grade we have been working hard to learn our facts. The students have done a great job and are ready for the big leagues.
The “big leagues” in our class is playing baseball multiplication. There are no strikes and no balls, just outs and runs. Students roll dice to get a number for their multiplication fact. An out is scored by simple math facts or by incorrect answers. Runs are scored by correctly answering more difficult math facts.
The students are doing so well, we’re going to the World Series! Okay, not the real World Series, the Multiplication World Series. Students were split into teams of two. Each team then drew for a bracket spot. It will be single elimination until the Championship. The champions will be crowned after winning best 2 out of 3 games.
Who will the multiplication World Series Champions be?
Stay tuned……Games begin March 1st. Results coming soon.
