Commonly Asked Questions of the Driver's Education Teacher
March 10, 2008
Many rule changes have recently taken place involving the ability to obtain a driver's license. Listed below are some commonly asked questions and their answers:
* I've heard that its isn't necessary to study for the written drive's license test. Is this true?
No, this is not true. The written test failure rate in 2006 was 41%. Take time to prepare for the test prior to going to the exam office.
* What could I do to improve my chances of passing the written test?
Carefully study the Nebraska Driver's Manual. You can also take the Interactive Driver's License Test online at http://www.dmv.state.ne.us/examining/aaa/inter.html
The questions on the Interactive Driver's License test are identical to the ones on the "real" written test.
* If I presented the Written and Drive Test Waiver form or the 50 Hour Certification form when I applied for my SCP - must I present it again when I apply for my POP?
No - the DMV will have a record of what was presented for the SCP and you will not be required to present the Written and Drive Test Waiver or or the 50 Hour Certification for again.
* Can I use a cell phone when driving?
The holder of any type of school learner's permit, learner's permit, or provisional operator's permit is NOT to use any type of wireless communication device while operating a motor vehicle. This includes all mobile or cellular phones, text messaging devices, a personal digital assistant, an audio-video player that sends or receives messages, or a lap top computer.
