Remember these ideas are not all-inclusive. Always pick something that works for your child; every child learns differently.
.)Always write your words in color. Use one color for each word.
.)Say and spell the words aloud to an adult.
.)Write the words in alphabetically in ascending or descending order.
.)Write the words and trace an outline around the word; create a unique shape or box for each word.
.)Cut out and paste the words from a magazine or newspaper.
.)Chunk the information; practice only 4-5 words per night.
.)Practice the spelling words while driving in the car.
.)Divide each word into segments. Write one segment onto each part of a folded piece of paper.
.)Write the words and then write rhyming words for each word.
.)Practice words for a several times for a short amount of time not one time for a really long amount of time.
.) Have a spelling competition between family members and keep points.
