Elementary Student Council sponsored the 2008 Elementary Presidential Elections on Tuesday November 4th. Student Council members registered all students grades 1-6 so that they could cast their vote. Students voted on President, Senate, and District #3 House of Representatives. After the day of voting was over the votes were tallied and the majority voted Republican. John McCain won the presidents poll, Mike Johanns won Senate seat, and Adrian Smith was voted as a member of the House of Reps.
Elementary Students grades 4-6 also took part in the 2008 Nebraska Student Vote. This was a mock election project of Nebraska Secretary of State John A. Gale and the Omaha World-Herald.
It was a great learning experience for all the students.
