Sutton Youth Wrestling Shows Bright Future for Wrestling in Sutton at Huskerland Wrestling.

On April 12th and 13th, 6 wrestlers from Sutton participated in the annual Huskerland Wrestling Tournament in Kearney. Leading the way for the Sutton Wrestlers was Tristan Sheridan who placed 1st in his division. Also placing for the future Mustangs were Tyler Bailey, 2nd, Derek Bailey, 3rd and Adam Carlson and Michael Cox, 4th. After winning his first match Ignacio Rivera fell one match short of placing. The optimism around these future wrestlers was enhanced by the performance of the Shoff boys who are the children of sutton Public Schools newly selected High School Principal Mike Shoff. Michael Shoff in 8th grade became a 5x Champion of Champions, and Brock in 6th grade was also a Champion of Champions. Youngest son Cory placed 3rd in his division. If the points of the current Sutton Youth Wrestlers and the new additions to our school in the fall were combined, Sutton would have had the highest point total in the Class D division. Congratulations to all Sutton Youth Wrestlers on a fine season and for bringing exciting expectations for the future of Sutton High School Wrestling.
